IT'S THE MONTH OF LOVE, SWEETS, GIFTS AND HEARTS.
It's also the month we as a nation turn our focus to a different type of heart - the human heart.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death among men and women in the United States. Every year, one in four deaths is caused by heart disease. Closer to home, New Orleanians living in poverty are five times more likely to die or suffer from heart disease because of health disparities that often plague our community.
The good news is YOU can help us prevent and treat heart disease locally.
Donations to our 2017 Heart-Healthy Campaign will help us:
- Provide blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol screenings for at-risk populations throughout the greater New Orleans area

Improve patient care by providing services and equipment that are essential to treating patients dealing with high blood pressure and more
- Assist patients with purchasing medications used to treat conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, all of which are risk factors for heart disease
It's through the generous support of people like you – heart-healthy visionaries – that we are able to provide life-saving screenings and treatment that touches the lives of thousands of people who are struggling in and around New Orleans.
